Skate Series

With Activision dominating the skateboarding game genre for so long, it seemed as if noone could step up to the challenge.  That was before EA games developed a new game called Skate in 2007 selling more than Activision's Tony Hawk's Skater by a ratio almost 2 to 1. One of the reasons the game is so successful is probably the great gameplay. To pull off tricks the player is required to use the thumb sticks in a way that really feels like you were doing an ollie or kickflip. For example a player would have to control the characters foot by sliding the thumbstick towards the top left or right edge of the deck to pull off a kickflip or heelflip.  This kind of realistic gameplay made it fun and challanging to land flip tricks, grind rails or air out of transitions.

Each game in the Skate series has great gameplay, soundtracks and character customization options, I would definitely recommend playing all three.

Amnesia

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a low budget survival horror game developed by Frictional Games. The goal of the game is to discover the protagonists past while surviving through a series of monsters and puzzles without any sort of defence apart from hiding.

Since it's release, Frictional games have released an extra free level for all its steam customers allowing further enrichment of the storyline.
From experience, this is one game you would not want to play alone in the dark with an environment of complete silence. Take a look:

Portal 2

After the critically successful release of 'Portal', Valve Corporation have developed a sequel to the storyline and added a new feature 'co-op' mode for it's users in its new release of Portal 2.

The Portal series demonstrate a new platform of gaming with the use of portals and links between different locations of space. With this platform, it has allowed valve to further develop the storyline of the Half-Life series and be able to show off what this type of programming can do.

The new cooperative testing will prove to be a vital asset to the release of Portal 2. I myself have finished it and loved it very much so. Well done Valve

Red Dead Redemption Weapons

Red Dead Redemption is a wild west sandbox shooter from Rockstar, the game has a great story, fantastic graphics, great characters and tons of weapons! With the game having 32 or more weapons there is plenty of ways to kill your enemies or hunt animals. The player can carry up to 9 weapons at a time which range from hunting knives, revolvers/pistols, shotguns, rifles, scoped rifles and throwing weapons. But of course there is also a lasso and your own fists included, having an old fashioned bar fight, or roping someone while riding your horse is so much fun.

Red Dead Redemption uses a system called "Dead Eye" which puts the game into slow motion alowing you to take accurate shots in different areas on a enemy, it is very handy as your invincible when "Dead Eye" is activated and almost always guarantees a kill.

Mass Effect Series

Holy cow these games are great! In my opinion the Mass Effect series are some of the best games I have ever played.  I have played through the first game three times, and i'm currently playing through the second game for the second time, I never get bored of them!

The first game, where it all began.

Mass Effect is a great mix of action and rpg elements, with a great storyline to add. The tons of different characters and environments make it fun to interact and explore every part of the game.  And the combat is just as good as any other 3rd person shooter.

More guns and allies.

The second game is just as good as the first or better, you have more weapons, more allies and more loactions to travel too and explore, including some from the first game.  One of the great features added in the second game is the ability to interrupt conversations. Either the left or right trigger button will be displayed during conversations, allowing you to either do something bad or good.  The more you enable these actions, the more options will be opened for you to use while interactiing with someone.
Recommend playing them both!

World Of Warcraft (WOW)

World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by Blizzard Entertainment and is considered a MMORPG for short

players control a character avatar within a game world in third or first-person view, exploring the landscape, fighting various monsters, completing quests, and interacting with non-player characters (NPCs) or other players. Also similar to other MMORPGs, World of Warcraft requires the player to pay for a subscription, either by buying prepaid game cards for a selected amount of playing time, or by using a credit or debit card to pay on a regular basis.

World of Warcraft play involves "questing" also called tasks/missions, usually available from NPCs. Quests  reward the player with some combination of experience points, items, and in-game money and allow characters to gain access to new skills and abilities, and explore new areas.

HALO REACH

release on September 14th 2010 this is one of Bungies most anticipated game yet, taking place in the year 2552, where humanity is locked in a war with the alien Covenent. Players control Noble Six, a member of an elite super soldier squad, during the battle for the world of Reach. As the Covenant begin their assault on the planet, the UNSC begin their heroic yet ultimately futile effort to repel the alien invaders.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Background
Created by Ben Chichoski, call of duty is a game series that has taken the world by storm, selling over 55 million units worldwide. Call of duty has taken in $3 billion in retail sales this can be easily seen from what has been created throughout the series. Call of duty is a first person shooter but is not the first of its kind but that does set it apart is the kill cam that has seen its way throughout all of the call of duty series, giving the killed player the ability to view his/her death from the killers view. This feature has become iconic and highly representative of the COD series

Modern Warfare 2
Released in 2009 modern warfare 2 is, like its predecessors in the series, a first person shooter and is the sixth installment in the Call of Duty series. The game is set in a similar time period as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and as the name suggests, is based upon the modern era providing new urban terrain, weapons and game features such as kills streaks. This game doesn't surprise gamers why IGN gave it a 9.5/10 upon review, winning many awards and selling just under 10 million copies in the US alone this game was the sequel to infinity wards Modern Warfare and did meet expectations of players although due to various hacks and the campaign controversy over the depiction of a massacre carried out in a Russian airport, there has been an international community.

Mining and Crafting

Hello
Just wanted to talk about a game I can not stop playing at the moment called Minecraft. The game itself has very basic graphics, no storyline, no characters and no levels. It just has the simple goal of surviving, exploring and building what ever you want.

Big and blocky

The world that you explore is randomly generated as you play, and has a day and night system.  Daytime is fun full of mining, crafting tools, killing animnals or building houses.  Night-time however is when monsters like spiders, zombies and exploding creatures called creepers appear, so building weapons or a shelter before nightime is recommended.

There are tons of tools and objects you can craft by collecting the necessary resources, and with people making mods and adventure maps for you to download, theres plenty to do in this game. Recommend purchasing it, as it is a cheap, fun and lasting game.
